Soy Candle
Safety Tips
|
- Remove
All Packaging, Tags, and Ribbons from your candle before burning!
- Keep
your soy candles away from heat sources and out of direct sunlight.
- For
best results, keep wicks trimmed to 1/4 inch.
- Always
keep a burning candle within sight.
- Please
keep lit and unlit candles away from children and pets! Scented
cold wax can smell delicious, and children and pets may
try to eat the candle!
- Place
candle on a level, heat resistant surface, and keep it
out of the draft. Do
not burn a candle near or on anything that can catch fire.
- Candles
should be placed at least three inches from each other
to ensure that they don't melt each other or create their
own drafts that will cause the candle to burn improperly.
- Do
not extinquish a candle with water as this can cause splatters
and your container to break. To safely extinguish
a candle use a candle snuffer.
- Never
use a candle as a light when you go into a closet to look for
something.
- Never
use a candle for light when fueling equipment such as a lantern,
kerosene heater, or your generator.
- When
you light your jar candle for the first time, burn it
for at least three to four hours until the melt
pool completely stretches across the top of the candle.
This first full burn will set the candles memory, and
will help prevent wick tunneling in
future lightings.
- Because
each candle is individually handpoured, colors may vary slightly
from batch to batch. Burn times are approximate and may vary
depending on candle color and scent.
- To prevent burns DO NOT MOVE a candle
while lit.
- Do
not continue to burn the candle when the wax content is less
than 1/2 inch from the bottom of the container.
- Keep
the wax pool clean and free of matches or wick trimings.
- As
a rule, pillar candles should be burned one hour for each inch
of the candle's diameter for the first burn.
- Always use proper,
tight-fitting holders with all votive candles
.
- NEVER
burn a candle in a broken or chipped jar.
